Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Sunday announced that Dusmantha Chamera and Vanindu Hasaranga have been allowed to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has replaced Sri Lanka’s Hasaranga and Chamira with Adam Jampa and Daniel Sams for the 14th edition of the IPL.
The SLC said in a statement that it had “approved the players in consultation with the technical advisory committee”.
Both were given ‘no-objection certificates’ for inclusion in the IPL squad from September 15 (after Sri Lanka tour South Africa).
According to the SLC, both the players will join the Sri Lankan squad on October 10 to play two warm-up matches before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.
The 14th season, which was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic epidemic in May this year, will resume on September 19 with the blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in Dubai.
The action of the Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore will be shifted to Abu Dhabi.
On September 24, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Chennai Super Kings. There will be 13 matches in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi.
