Sri Lanka vs South Africa 2nd T20I 2021 – Recent Match Report

The hosts also dropped Akila Dhananjaya for the veteran victory.

Sri Lanka chose to bat vs South Africa

Kusal Perera has returned to international cricket after recovering from covid-19 and Dasun Shanaka will start batting after taking charge.

Kusal tested positive for Kovid last month and was included in Sri Lanka’s squad for the one-day series against South Africa, but received only medical clearance to play for the match. He also missed the home series against India in July due to a shoulder injury. Sri Lanka’s second-highest run-getter in ODIs, Abiska Fernando, was dropped to make way for Kusal.

Sri Lanka also changed their attack and dropped Akila Dhananjaya for the veteran victory, who rested the night in the first T20. They stuck to a three-spin, two-seam attack, which was also the South African structure on the surface suitable for slow bowling. The conditions also suggest that the team has the advantage of batting first, as run-scoring is expected to be difficult as the match progresses.

South Africa’s only chance came in the top five, where David Miller was dropped due to high pressure. Rossi van der Dussen, who was out on Friday with a hamstring problem, joined the team.
